Guru Rinpoche with his consort is portrayed situated immovably on a lotus seat in the thangka. Our artist has handpainted the artwork of Padmasambhava, who is seated on his lap, holding a vajra in his right hand, a skullcap in his left, and a khatvanga with skull heads on his left arm. His partner is situated on his lap, embracing him with her right hand and holding a skullcup in her left. He wears a robe with a lot of patterns, and the outer robe covers both his body and the body of his consort. Dark and robust hills, colored trees, and a raging river with waves and ritual offerings make up the background. The vibrating green Corona gives him a brilliance that differentiations with the wonderful blue striped radiance that shines around him. Both have delightfully planned gold and bejeweled trimmings.
