Prayer Flags, also known by their Tibetan name Lung-ta, come in square or rectangular shapes and are attached along their top edges to a long string or thread. They are typically displayed diagonally, connecting two objects (such as a rock and a pole) in elevated locations like temples, monasteries, stupas, or mountain passes.
This Dalai Lama Prayer Flag features an image of the 14th Dalai Lama, who is revered as the reincarnation of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. As the successor in a line of tulkus, the Dalai Lama is regarded as an Ocean of Wisdom and a selfless leader dedicated to serving the people.
This Prayer flags are adorned with five colors, each corresponding to one of the Five Elements. The colors are arranged from left to right in a specific order: blue, white, red, green, and yellow.
