Manjushri is commonly depicted as a male Bodhisattva. This particular Thangka showcases the divine figure of Manjushri, depicted with profound symbolism. In his right hand, Manjushri holds a flaming sword, representing his innate ability to cut through delusion and ignorance, guiding practitioners towards clarity and insight. His left hand delicately holds the stem of a lotus flower, a symbol of purity and spiritual growth. The sacred scripture supported by the lotus (padma) held in his left hand is a Prajnaparamita sutra (the Perfection of Wisdom), representing Manjushri of ultimate realization from the blossoming of knowledge and wisdom.
